The iSayHello travel dictionary update 2.0 – now with an integrated translator.

Only until Christmas – there’s a price reduction for iSayHello’s update 2.0 – now with a translator!

Admovi has just released the new iSayHello travel dictionary update 2.0 right on time for Christmas. As well as the 11 lessons dealing with practical well-known holiday themes such as Food and Drink, Hotel, Customs, Shopping, Emergencies and even a section on flirting, the user will now also find an additional translation tool. There the user can have simple and short sentences translated in no time. What’s also special about this update is that you can also send the translation by email. So, if you’ve arrived late you can send a quick message to the hotel and your room will stay reserved. It’s extremely practical and, given the amount of WLAN zones in the majority of European holiday destinations, it also means it doesn’t cost you a penny.

The iSayHello travel dictionaries’ function, which ensures that words and phrases related to the 11 selected holiday themes are pronounced by native speakers and can be played out, has proven to be useful. This is especially helpful and useful for travellers in countries such as Japan, China or Russia. iSayHello is available in 11 different languages (combined with your mother tongue) such as Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, French and Polish.

By using the „Favourite“ button, you can have your chosen phrases according to your needs all compiled together and, with the “Play all” function, you can relax on the plane and get a head start in your chosen language before your holiday starts.

All in all, the iSayHello app is a clearly arranged and easy to use travel app which is a must for your holidays.

For every German, English and Spanish iSayHello iPhone App there’s a special introductory price until the 22/12.

For all those who already have the update on their iPhone, the update is free of charge.

For smartphones equipped with Android software, the update is still being prepared, but will be available at the end of January 2011. The discount will also be available on Android Market until the new update is ready.

Father Christmas would also like a smartphone.

Tuesday, 7 December 2010, 23:31 | Category : Allgemein, Languages, News, Tips and Culture
Tags : , , , , , , , ,

Long gone are the days when Father Christmas would travel through the snow covered woods with the help of the stars, look up postal codes in the yellow pages, or use his eagle owl to help with the wish lists sent to him. It’s a lot easier, and lighter nowadays, provided you’ve got a smartphone.

However, here‘s where Father Christmas has to ask himself: an iPhone or an Android Smartphone? And which app serves which purpose? Choosing alone isn’t an easy task. Anyway, he can ask around in the fairytale forest or ask the wise owl or Mother Fulda, because she sees everything when the bed has been shaken. However, they both decline – he has to deal with this on his own. Indeed, it’s a question of faith and everyone has their own preference. At the end of the day what is important though, is which app(s) you’ve uploaded onto your phone, and there’s always a few more you can get on iTunes at the App Store. Most of them can also be found on Android Market. They’re not as elaborately packed, just as good nonetheless.

So what exactly does Father Christmas need?

To start off with, definitely a GPS with the right navigation app. He also needn’t worry anymore about having to find his way back through the snow covered wood as, thanks to the “Bring Me Back” app, he can get back home in no time. Beforehand, he will travel around using different city guides, checking out the highlights of the city and recover in a cosy bar which would lure him in by app with a special deal for Christmas punch. And, for the perfect send off for the presents, he’s already got the correct post code from the relevant app before they’ve even been wrapped.

Our Father Christmas must also be in tip-top shape. With countless fitness apps and altimeters available he can already start working out so he can carry that huge sack of his.

During his break – a break that Father Christmas is well entitled to – he’s also got a few game apps on his smartphone to keep him busy. And, just so he knows that his snack doesn’t contain too many calories, he can test it by using the relevant app.

Mother Fulda has recommended a few weather apps and the owl has given him some travel tips. Spain, Italy, France, Poland, China, Japan, wherever. What truly matters for the journey is that it is equipped with the new travel dictionary from iSayHello. Here, Father Christmas can find all sorts of phrases that he’ll need for when he’s away. Not only at customs will he breeze through, but also at the restaurant and the hotel he’ll have everything in the palm of his hand. He doesn’t even need to pronounce the sentences – the app can do that. Thanks to the iSayHello app he doesn’t need to bother his eagle owl anymore. Anything that isn’t covered in the lessons can be done quickly with the translator and sent by email, whenever he wants.

However, one problem still remains. What happens if Father Christmas loses his brand new Smartphone with all the amazing new apps in the snow? Will there be any presents at all under the tree this year? Tearful adults waiting for their iPhone or Android Smartphone? No, even this sinister scenario can be spared from us all. All we have to do is locate it and we’ll bring it back to Father Christmas.

We can only just hope that it won’t end up stolen; otherwise it’ll all be over.

We wish you all a very h-APP-y Christmas!

Der Weihnachtsmann möchte auch ein Smartphone

Friday, 3 December 2010, 0:05 | Category : Allgemein, Facebook, Languages, News, Tips and Culture, Video, YouTube, business

Also was braucht der Weihnachtsmann?

It’s competition time again at iSayHello everybody!

So far, there have been 8 great videos from our friends at LOWNO Films, with each one showing us how iSayHello came to their aid every single time. At the iSayHello office we’ve watched with anticipation every time a new one has been released and were also wondering what our fans think. So, which clip is your favourite? Let us know which clip you like the most and you could win download codes for a German course worth 20 Euros!

You can choose between these German courses, or, if you’re on a business trip, you might be interested in “More than Manners” instead, the business professional’s guide to success in Germany:

Here’s a quick reminder of the clips so far:

(1) How your iPhone can help you in case of an emergency This chap got caught short in more ways than one.

(2) Playing football with iSayHello.” This fellow had a case of “fever pitch.”

(3) “On the road with iSayHello.” These two hit the road….literally.

(4) “iSayHello at the restaurant.” Someone bit off more than they could chew at the restaurant.

(5) “iSayHello: Let you mobile do the talking!” Had these two had too much to drink? Or were they just stuck for words?

(6) “One-night stand with iSayHello.” The perfect start to a night out… but “all’s well that ends well”?

(7) “iSayHello at the dentist.” Someone was rather impatient.

(8) “iSayHello: The holdup.” This guy certainly wasn’t counting on this happening!

Once you’ve found your favourite, just vote for the clip on our Facebook page by clicking on the poll. And for our soon to be fans, you can find us at www.facebook.com/isayhellomobi.

Happy voting! :)

It can be quite a pain when you want to get a message across but can’t because of the language barrier. On the same hand, it can be even more of a pain when you’ve run out of one of life’s little essentials. Put the two together and you’ve got a problem. Or maybe not…

Thanks once again to the guys at LOWNO for a superb job, underlining how iSayHello really can come to the rescue! Never underestimate its power everybody ;)
